Board of Directors

Anne M. McGeorge, our Board Chair, has over 40 years of experience providing strategic guidance and operational and financial oversight to health care organizations. Ms. McGeorge currently serves on the board of directors and as the chair of the Audit Committee of Dianthus Therapeutics (NASDAQ:DNTH), a clinical-stage biotechnology company, and is on the board and the Audit Committee chair of Nimbus Therapeutics and CitiusTech, both privately-held biotech and healthcare technology companies, respectively. She has also served on several other public and private company boards and is on the adjunct faculty at the Gillings School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Before her retirement in July 2017, Ms. McGeorge served as the Global Managing Partner of Grant Thornton LLP's Health Care Industry Practice. Ms. McGeorge was formerly a partner at Deloitte LLP and Arthur Andersen LLP.  Ms. McGeorge was selected to serve on the board of directors due to her significant leadership and governance experience, as well finance, accounting, and risk management experience.

Karen M. Johnson is CEO and Executive Chair of Clever Care Health Plan, Inc. a culturally attuned Medicare Advantage Plan.   She previously served as the Medicare Officer for Health Net, a Centene company.  In that role, she led the building of business strategies and operations for the Medicare line of business. She has more than 35 years of leadership know-how. This includes her time as Medicare Regional President for WellCare (Arizona, California, Hawaii, Missouri and Washington). In this role, she oversaw finances, new market entry, regulatory oversight, network growth and provider relations, among other duties. Johnson is a leader with a proven track record of growing and scaling businesses and leading high performance teams. These teams aim to improve the health status of at-risk populations. For instance, prior to her role at WellCare, she served as Senior Vice President of Clinical Services at Health Essentials. While in this role, she launched a clinical care model, driven by a home-based supportive care program designed to support high-risk patients and end-of-life care. As an executive with UnitedHealthCare, she worked to drive growth in their government sponsored programs.

Ms. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctorate from Michigan State College of Law. She also holds an Executive Certificate from the Wharton School of Business. She currently serves on the board of Clever Care Health Plan, Bon Secours Mercy Health Foundation and MedTech Innovators.  She has served on the Board of Directors for several organizations including The National March of Dimes, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, ONEgeneration, YWCA and the American Diabetes Association. Additionally, she serves in the capacity of advisor for PE and VC backed portfolio companies, including GV.  Ms. Johnson was selected to serve on the board of directors due to her extensive experience in operational leadership roles at healthcare services companies.

Mark Pacala brings more than 30 years of general management and private equity experience in healthcare and consumer services companies. He is a senior advisor for several private equity firms and serves on the board of several portfolio companies in the healthcare industry. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Marriott Corporation and Walt Disney Company. Mr. Pacala was also CEO of Forum Group and American Whole Health. He was a general partner at Essex Woodlands Health Venture until 2009 and senior advisor at Oak Hill Capital Partners until 2016, focusing on healthcare investments. Mr. Pacala holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Stolper has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of RadNet, Inc., a publicly traded operator of medical diagnostic imaging centers, since July 2004. Before joining RadNet, Mr. Stolper had diverse experiences in investment banking, venture capital investing and operations. He has extensive experience as a board member, including other publicly-traded and privately-held board healthcare companies. Mr. Stolper graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S.E. in Finance from the Wharton School. Additionally, Mr. Stolper earned a postgraduate Award in Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Kim Tzoumakas is the Chief Executive Officer of VytlOne National Pharmacy Services and a member of the board of directors. VytlOne partners with hospitals and health systems to provide pharmacy management services, PBM and 340B optimization.  With more than 25 years of strategic and operational leadership experience in the healthcare industry, Kim has extensive experience building high performing corporate cultures and driving business transformation and performance. She has provided strategic, transactional and governance advice to health care providers including serving as a board member to public and private companies.  Kim previously served as CEO of RAYUS Radiology, a leading national provider for advanced diagnostic and interventional radiology services and as CEO of 21st Century Oncology, one of the largest integrated cancer care networks in the world.

She holds a Juris Doctor Degree (JD) from Thomas Cooley Law School and a BBA from Northwood University.
 

Dr. Daniel Virnich joined Starling Oncology in 2020. As Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Virnich believes in focusing on clinician and teammate culture as a key to driving great oncology care and the best patient outcomes.

Before joining Starling Oncology, Dr. Virnich was the President of DaVita Medical Group, Florida. In that role, Dr. Virnich managed a full-risk medical group and IPA with over 1,400 teammates and clinicians accountable for over 92,000 Medicare Advantage members. Prior to running HCP’s Florida Market, Dr. Virnich was Senior Vice President of Operations for Healthcare Partners in Southern California.

Earlier in his career, he was the Chief Medical Officer for Team Health’s Acute Care services division. Dr. Virnich received his BA and MD from the University of Chicago and his MBA from Northwestern University. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Brad Hively served as Chief Executive Officer of STLN from 2019-2023 and has been a member of the board since leaving the CEO role in 2023. Prior to joining STLN, Mr. Hively served as a principal for RLH Equity Partners from 2016 to 2019 and continues to serve as a Strategic Advisor for RLH. Mr. Hively served as President of Health Essentials, which provided high-touch, value-based care to post-acute and palliative care patients from 2014 to 2015. Prior to Health Essentials, from 2009 to 2014, Mr. Hively served as Senior Vice President of Operations at Heritage Provider Network, one of the largest physician groups in the U.S., and one of the pioneers of value-based care. Mr. Hively has also held roles with several leading private equity firms, including TA Associates, General Atlantic, and ROCA Partners. Mr. Hively holds a B.A. in Business Economics from University of California, Los Angeles and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
